As one might expect from a "Jeopardy Contestant ", Francis G. Pennarola practices in all of the firm's practice areas. He represents businesses in all of their legal needs from formation to preparing Operating and Shareholder Agreements. He prepares and reviews contracts. He also helps clients with trademarks, copyrights and the protection of their intellectual property.

Mr. Pennarola tries civil, jury and court cases and handles all aspects of probate litigation, both before Connecticut 's Probate Courts and in the Superior Court.

He regularly represents buyers and sellers of commercial and residential property, as well as landlords and tenants. He is involved in all aspects of commercial financing, representing both lenders and borrowers.

He serves as a Superior Court Trial Referee and is a former president of the Danbury Bar Association. Mr. Pennarola has a lifelong interest in the fine arts and maintains an art law website, www.lawforart.com .

He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for Connecticut, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Education

Mr. Pennarola received a J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1976 and a B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University in 1973.

Membership

Mr. Pennarola is a Member of the American Bar Association and its Committees on Litigation and Intellectual Property, the Connecticut Bar Association and its Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section, the Danbury Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.

Community Activities

Mr. Pennarola is currently a Member of the Legislative Council of the Town of Newtown (since 2001) serving as Vice Chairman of the Council, as well as the Chairman of the Ordinance Committee. For the past 13 years, he has been a Trustee of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association. He also serves as a Member of the Advisory Board for Catholic Charities of Greater Danbury.
