Experienced Representation For Conservatorship Proceedings
Sometimes, individuals become incapable of caring for themselves or managing their financial affairs. In those cases, probate courts often appoint a conservator, an individual authorized by law to oversee their personal and/or financial affairs. Infirm persons can invoke the process voluntarily, or a family member worried about them can start an involuntary process. The conservator can then assist with everything from paying bills to managing home care services to helping to resolve disputes among family members with divergent objectives.
Our probate and elder law attorneys can assist you and your loved ones in asserting or defending conservatorship proceedings. We can give everyone comfort that a conservator will be appointed only when warranted, with adequate review and consideration.
Protecting Loved Ones From Financial Abuse
Seniors often accumulate significant wealth and suffer from diminished capabilities. Thus, they are particularly vulnerable to fraud, undue influence, embezzlement and other schemes to deprive them of their hard-earned assets. Our elder law lawyers are alert to these threats and, in conjunction with our litigation team, can take advantage of special laws that protect seniors from financial abuse.
